Carol Seeley, Teacher of the Year for 2007

On May 2, 2007 at the Annual General Meeting in Kamloops, BC, Carol Seeley was announced as the 2007 CQA/ACC Teacher of the Year. Kerry Hammell, a member of Carol’s local guild, the Campbell River Friendship Quilters’ Guild, introduced Carol to the audience. Carole McCarville, CQA/ACC Acting Vice President, presented Carol with the silver –plated, engraved seam ripper, the symbol of this award. A congratulatory message from the Campbell River Friendship Quilters’ Guild was read. Carol’s acceptance speech followed.
Carol is best known for her creative and technical expertise in all aspects of:

Machine quilting, including creating original designs

Drafting and designing original geometric patterns

Drafting and designing award winning, original landscapes

Embellishing
She is well qualified as a quilter, designer and teacher who is currently teaching beginner to advanced level classes throughout British Columbia and other parts of Canada. Carol has been invited to teach at Quilt Canada 2008 in St John’s. Look for her workshops in the Quilt Canada 2008 handbook which is included with this newsletter.
