2007 CQA/ACC Trend-Tex Quilter’s Challenge ![]() We would like to thank all the CQA/ACC members who participated, both by purchasing kits and by putting time and talent into making a wallquilt and donating it to CQA/ACC. Your support and participation are essential to the continuing success of the Quilters’ Challenge. We are proud to display your efforts for all to enjoy. This year’s theme was Why do I Quilt? 107 wallquilts were returned, with 15 selected to be sold through On-line Auction, 12 to be sold in a Live Auction at the Closing Banquet, and the remainder to be sold in the Silent Auction. Congratulations to our members who completed their works and contributed to an outstanding display of colour, style, technique and commitment to the association. We thank our panel of judges who gave of their expertise and their time to view and select this year’s winners. Emilie Belak, Grand Forks, BC, a fibre artist whose work, In Praise of Poppies, was selected as one of the 100 Best American Quilts of the 20th Century. Dawn Fox Cooper, Procter, BC, a traditional hand quilter whose works have won awards at APQN, the NJS, and Houston. Peggy Toews, Castelgar, BC, who has been quilting since 1984 and whose work ranges from traditional hand piecing to thread painting. The prize winners were announced at the CQA/ACC Annual General Meeting on May 2, 2007.
