Quilt SK 2009
The Canadian Quilters’ Association / Association canadienne de la courtepointe (CQA/ACC) and the local organizing committee in Saskatchewan invite quilters from near and far to Saskatoon this May. In addition to the Association’s Annual General Meeting and CQA/ACC Town Hall Meeting, there will be numerous quilt shows to see and activities to participate in during the six day event.

For Quilt Saskatchewan 2009 all activities will take place in three central locations in downtown Saskatoon, the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel, the TCU Place and the Park Town Hotel. All locations are within easy walking distance to each other. The National Juried Show will be the showcase for the best that Canadian quilters have to offer. The Invitational Show and Trend-Tex Quilter’s Challenge will round out the CQA/ACC sponsored shows. In addition to the CQA/ACC sponsored events there are numerous galleries and quilt shops for the visitor to Quilt SK to attend. See the Concurrent Show guide below.

On Friday evening, three of the six Quilt SK teachers will present thirty minute presentations and trunk shows at TCU place. Refreshments will follow the presentations. Admission is $25 plus tax and must be purchased in advance (see information for ticket purchase below). The week will culminate with the Final Banquet at the Western Development Museum. Cocktails will begin at 5:30 allowing visitors to wander around the Boomtown recreation within the museum. Dinner will begin at 6:30. The evening’s entertainment will include a live auction of 12 Trend-Tex Challenge Quilts and a local musical group. Tickets for this event must be purchased in advance. See ticket purchase information below.

During the conference, visit the CQA/ACC booth for up to date information. Located outside the Merchant Mall at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel, the dates and hours of operation will be May 27 – May 31, 10-5 pm.
